I've made a mod that I think will make my front fender less of a hazard.
Originally I took out the weak little tab that came with the fender. I replaced it with two corner braces (or are they L-brackets?) back to back and sticking up through the top of the fender. I hope it's clear in these photos; I've turned that upside down. Now the vertical part of these corner braces point down. The fender now rides up over the 'crown' of these springer forks and this hanging down 'tab' bolts it into place.
I'm pretty sure now that if my fender ever gets caught in the tire it'll merely be spit out the top instead of getting down under my wheels.
