I'm not much of a mechanic so I would appreciate some suggestions. My engine runs good but won't idle. I adjusted the idle adjustment screw up but it idles way too high and I have to hold it back due to my friction drive setup.

Duh? He said it is a friction drive so no chain and spinning free...
Do you know which screw is the idle? It's the large black screw on top
that pushes on the butterfly arm.
The brass screw in the front is the mixture.
Should be from 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 turns out
Your idle jet may need cleaning
and as mentioned above Check for an intake leak
