Does anyone know, or can anyone measure the dimensions of a 12g spoke?

I need to drill my disc brake hub to accept 12g spokes. My hub will be here tomorrow but my wheels won't be here until next week. I'd like to have the hub drilled so when the wheel arrives I can go ahead and slap her in.

I'm only asking because I don't have a 12g spoke laying around and don't always trust the internet, except for the guys on this site!

Thanks

12g is .105 gauge.

my advice is to wait till you have all the parts. i eyeball the drill bit size. i can't remember offhand what size the bit is.

assuming your hub is aluminum, a good drillbit with rip right through that hub in 5 minutes. have a little patience and make sure you get it right...:)

You can fit them a little closer to size as long as you countersink the side that the head seats against. You don't want the head raised up because thr radius under the head keeps it from seating. Check it out on "Sheldon Brown.com"
