Re: modified 66cc Ht in bmx

Alrighty then.

We pulled the head off. Running super clean on the klotz oil but we noticed some FOD to the chamber. Turns out the chrome cylinder wall is peeling and chopping up the engine

so. We pulled the jug. Bore it out and I am now busy machining a sleeve from some 6085 ally. It will have a tapered bore and be nickel plated. The piston will be an interference fit at TDC and run no rings.
our new 20.5mm walbro carb will be modded to run methanol and the portsvand timing re-evaluated. Good chance of crankcase reed induction.

pictures to follow as soon as I get to my pc.we.

Pics of the Head as it came off the engine.

Klotz oil works.

the cylinder after boring and lapping

and what is to be our new sleeve.
This is BEAUTIFUL - how much would you charge for a sleeved cylinder like this? I think you could sell a lot of them. but how much would a one-off cost?

Its done amongst a gazillion other project that I have going on. I would never be able to charge my hours and for production versions I would need to make pistons from Dispal 226 wich is really rare and expebsive.

just a hobbyist documeting my fun. Im happy to post info if you need or ask
