Doe's anybody know if the 4 stroke 50cc Honda/HauShangs (Red motors) are over head valve (OHV) or over head cam (OHC) ? I know the HF 79ccs are OHV. They ,OHV have a more limited rev range than an OHC motor. OHC motors hp comes in at a higher rev range usually. Doesn't seem to effect me though. I guess the Greyhonds OHV rev range is broad and high enough with the governer removed for my riding. cvlt1

Thank you for the info guys. I thought the Honda 49cc may have been overhead cam. I guess not. I wonder why they have a higher rev range than the 2.5 OHV Greyhound according to Gunter ? Must be the way their cammed ?

The little Honda revs so fast because it was designed to replace the standard 2-stroke weedeater type engine. Short stroke, and light parts capable of high revs
