any of you guys have this problem. basically its just as the title suggests. when im cruising down the road and turn the throttle back to where it would be idling( or just slowing down), the rpms are still pretty high. i dont know if its a carb issue or if the throttle cable is sticking inside the housing... any suggestions? or has anyone else dealt with this?

Make sure that there are no kinks in the throttle cable for 1.

But it sounds like you have an air leak, cuz i had a similar problem. Take some carb cleaner and spray it aound the intake and carb joints and if the engine revs up, you found the leak. Tighten it up or repair it and you should be good!

Haha, thats no good. You should always do a walk around before you get on the bike to check for loose nuts, chain, and brakes. Let us know what happens

Another thing to check for is if you used a wrench to tighten the top of the carb? (the part that holds the slider in.)
You should only hand tighten it because over tightening can cause the carb body to warp & the slider to stick!

*edit* Also, check everything to make sure the whole throttle is working smooth & as Derks said, make sure the cable has no kinks or hard bends in it.
