Thought I would start a thread to those that kinda dissapeared for a while.

HEY! I fall in that category!!!

I've always been around but lately just lurking and posting ocassionally.
I still ride daily. I've made small changes to the Buggy bike I'll try to post this weekend.

Most of my time lately has been spent worrying about my daughter.
Navy Boot Camp in Great Lakes. 2 weeks without a letter from her it's absolutely killing me
that's my little girl.
Hopefully she'll survive BT. Then it's Florida for a year and a half of A School.
Then she's gonna do Air Crew.

I used to be like a DAILY poster man every day both forums always a post or ten a day.

I'll come back.

I'm making a bit more money now and although were saving up to go to Chicago to see my little girl graduate I got my eye on that Frame mount Titan to a five speed on a stretch cruiser with ape hangers. With that engine placement having the right sized cables to ape hangers should be no problem.
Yes. I need me a bike #4.

Maybe I'll hit up Duane after Christmas gotta stay realistic here I seem to be always buying stuff for others.

My weight has been 270ish. Still go to Bally's but my weight has stuck. It's my fault. No one in my home any more. Son moved out,Daughter is fighting for our country,Mother in Law passed away early this year so it's just the wife and I and my Host Home guy in our home.

And sometimes I would just sit there in front of the TV and something makes me think of my daughter then the tears flow. Then I open the fridge.

It's gonna stop TODAY. I have a little over a month to lose a bit more. I don't want to see my daughter unless I lose a bit more.

And I'm seriously thinking of donating my pony tail to Locks Of Love just so I can look good in Chicago.

She had her hair hacked off.
It's only fair.

Maybe today we'll get a letter from her.

Wife and I have been writing every day.

I'll know where you're coming from Large. My oldest leaves for USAF BT in November.

He told his recruiter that it would really upset his mom when they bumped him back from Sept. to Nov. for his leave date because this will be his first Christmas away from home, recruiter said "Your parents have had 18 Christmases with you, they'll get over it." lol

I luck out there. She'll be home for Christmas.

There's a certain pride you get when your loved one joins the military. I mean the main reason for joining to her was so that she can have a decent education she was always bright in school.
But by now I'm thinking for her it's much more than a free education.
I never thought I would experience this pride. But at the same time the other day I was outside my door and I saw two military guys drive up my street.
I about went nuts. Then they drove past me.
I'm going nuts right now just wondering what she is doing right now and who is messing with her head.

The military life is a very good life. At least it used to be. I spent 26 years in the USAF and have a very nice ($2700) monthly pension. Went in in 62' and retired in 88'. Only conflict I was involved in was Vietnam. It was hairy, but I came through it OK.

Zev0, my oldest brother still kicks himself to this day for not sticking it out to retirement.
Enlisted in 69 and went into S.A.C. he got out in the late 70's as a S. Sgt.

Large,

'No news is good news', especially when they're in boot. She's probably thinking of you as much as your thinking bout her, only she's a whole lot busier than you are right now. She will always be your 'little girl', but understand, that now she is one of this nations daughters. We're all very proud of her and all those that guard our freedoms. They are in our hearts, minds and prayers always.

Thanks for shareing.......

I'm still around sort of. I've taken a job that has me away from home for long stretches working an Archaeology project in Utah. The company provides transportation so I don't have my bike with me. It would be nice to have though. Strange Town + No Transportation = Boring! The project will likely be done before the end of the year though so I'll be back here, unemployed and with way too much time on my hands!

You know you've been gone a while when you forget your password. THANKS PAUL for helping me reset it!
So my Daughter breezed thru Boot Camp a little while back and is now in Pensacola in "A" School and will be stationed in Virginia.
I honestly haven't touched my bikes in over a month. New developments have fallen my way and on my free time I find myself watching a baby. I'll be free this Summer though.
So with the baby I do more driving than anything but boy do I miss riding. It will always be in my blood.
My 8 year old iMac G4 finally quit on me it's probably just a power issue but I found a used Mac Mini Intel and I'm back on the internets again.
I want to say sorry guys for being away.
Sometimes life just puts your joy to the side.
Neighbors ask me all the time why they don't see me riding.
I'll stay on and will post every now and then.
I gotta get some ride time in.

Lucky for him they changed the no cellphone rule in January so now he gets to use his once a week for calling home instead of using a payphone and a calling card.

Getting closer to Summer where I'll be riding again. Didn't have the baby the other day so I dusted off Cronus and went for a really nice ride. Instantly I'm hooked again.
The Buggy Bike I'm working on my front wheel. Weld on the sprocket snapped so that trike is on the side for now. MOOP2 had a tire low on air and I couldn't find my pump.
But it seems I'll be riding regular again really soon.
Just wanted to share with you guys someone I found on the internet.
I found my little girl! She's on the computer at about 2:30 on the video.

"Ship Life, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit" - The Military Family Network™

She's not back till next April. She's on the USS Kearsarge.

Turns out too my son is gonna be a dad. So I'm saving up to get him a car with an actual back seat. The lady is due in Septemberish.

I'll be back regular real soon. For now I'm gonna get on that Facebook sticky thread and post my profile.

I honestly miss this place.

Deciding to get a luxury car. I guess my mid life crisis is coming to a close. Probably will have the funds by Fall. Deciding on a Caddy or a Mercedes.
What's the verdict?

Good ol' Large. Nice to hear again from one of the founding fathers. I've always loved the name of your MOOP bikes.

I haven't posted lately. My one and only MB is still cranking away; for the third year, now.
I did a little modification and should post pics soon.

When the old bike keeps working, there's not much to write about, but I'm not complaining.
