Ive been seeing these different 4g covers with a hole thru the cover over the big pulley. Is this a way to know what year the kit is? Recently a shop told me they had "brand new 2014" 4g kits in stock and you can tell they were new by the "new black 4g covers" their words, not mine.

Need to know before I buy one if im getting setup for the let down, thanks.

I believe the covers are optional parts. The kit I just got from gasbike.net has the hole despite what the picture shows on their web page. Kinda cool looking that way, IMO. You can always buy the peekaboo cover aftermarket or cut out the solid one if you get otherwise, the covers are only $10 (link).

The 'peek-a-boo' covers are for the 20T/80TFW/10T 4G's that have a freewheel 80 tooth freewheel pulley and solid output sprocket opposed to a fixed hard 80T pulley and freewheel 12T output sprocket like this recent build.
