Hey Everyone. I was having some trouble with my bike coming home today, i removed the clutch cover plate to find my round column bolt, the one that holds the crank output gear in, was about half way stripped and wouldn't go back in place. I know i can order a replacement online but was wondering if anyone has had any success in replacing this part with some bolt from a hardware store?

Also how important is this bolt?
I assume it has some purpose because its there, but the gears not going anywhere so what does it really do?

It is a 2 stroke engine, 48cc Skyhawk

Any chance to place the bolt from something from a hardware store or similar?
It would be very hard/impossible to find that bolt which all the 2 stroke
engines use.

The small bevel gear will come off and destroy itself and maybe take the
large gear out too. Also it might put a hole in the cover.

I have 4 of them.....

Do you know a guy named Dennis in Escondido who builds bikes?
