Well it sounds like the bikes over 12hp may not have a class to race this new year. Seeing as how I built one bike specifically for racing and it is now pushing the envelope on the "acceptable" horsepower limits, it looks like there will be no one else to race against. My next build is a daily rider 99cc and I don't really think it will be a capable contender in the mid class so it may be farewell to the racing scene for me. I can't predict the future, but I sure had fun racing in the past!

yeah, ol' #3

sorry to hear that Scotto, the most fun that I had on my Morini was chasing you at the Grange last race. There are a few mods that i'm making to the bike so I can be more competitive with the front runners.

Don't retire there is only 3 races this year.

I'll be racing what I brung

Scott,
I'm holding off my knee replacement until the winter because I want to race!
I thought we were bumping up the HP in our class and 17 or 18 HP will be allowed for the big 4 strokers. You're definitely one of the elite front runners in the class.
Just to let you know... it wouldn't be the same without the loud roar of your bike and my eyes tearing up following behind you!

It's looking like the mid class is getting pretty big . What are the cc limits how big how small . Maybe post up the class rules so we can see them .
Are you reading this Neil? Do I have to drop one of my box stock 200cc engines into my only race bike to compete? Will there be an unlimited class?

Inquiring minds would like to know....

This is also the race order with eBikes first.

All entries must have functioning pedals.

No real motorcycle tires allowed. Bicycle tires only.

3) 2 Stroke:
48 cc to 66 cc aka 80 Chinese bicycle motors.

2 groups run because of large number of entries.

The first 5 to 7 finishers from the above 5 Classes will race
against each other in The Ultimate Race.

UNLIMITED Gas OR eBike Class
Includes any motorized bicycles that are over 12 hp and don't
fit in any the other classes but meet a few basic common
sense rules like functioning pedals and still resemble bicycles.

Multi speed shiftable motorcycle engines are in this class.
Motorcycle tires are in this class.

Exceptions may be made to the above classes at the race
organizers discretion [That's me] and the list will be updated as needed.

Racer's feedback is welcomed to define these classes more.
Here's one racers feedback.......has anything changed?

Scotto- I doubt that you could ever be out classed, but I never thought the day would come where you would be classed out.
Your bike is awesome and deserves to be on the track!

Scotto- don't stop, just morph a little. Always look forward to seeing you at the track and racing with you - it wouldn't be the same. Just evolve your bike to the mid class?
I'm very familiar with the lack of bikes to race against in my class (49cc 4-stroke) ...

Let's all remember this is for fun, and I don't care about trophies, I just want to run flat out on track, if it's an open test day for me so be it. I think it would be fun to ride with others who enjoy the same interests, as MB's aren't really big up here from what I can tell, and Northern California moped racing has no venue, yet...

Damn, how did this thread get 142,493 views???

Gotta be some some kind of software glitch because scotto crying in his beer about no class to race in can't be that popular. :D
I don't even remember why this thread got started???

Sometimes a PM, email, or phone call is the no drama way to resolve a non issue. :)

You could build motorcycles and join the grown ups, lol.
Yeah, been there, done that........it's just not the same. Somehow I've grown out of motorcycles......maybe something to do with all the idiots on the road these days? Texting and texting and CRASH! Another statistic bites the dust.

Motorized bicycles are just different and too much fun!
