I was wondering if anybody knows any good clutches for a four stoke engine. It will be for a 212cc predator engine on a beach cruiser bike. Any recommendations for an affordable and reliable clutch?
Depends entirely on the shaft size. There should be several brands of centrifugal clutch available well as a manual (from what I hear) if it ever reaches full production.
You could also go with a CVT drive. The big 212cc is a torque monster and the CVT really rips.
Google GoKart racing clutches as well. There's lots of choices.
I think they went out of business on the Downs manual clutch, doesn't surprise me because they didn't offer a way to replace the clutch linings or wear surfaces when it gets spent and it cost a lot. http://www.downsbrosracing.com/store.html
The site's down.
Figures.
See what I mean? I'm 50 years old and I'm still waiting for a working manual clutch for small engines. The manual clutch is the single biggest reason I build china girls.
My heart is broken once again.
*sobs quietly with visions of manual clutch hijinks on a briggs minibike dancing in his head*
I have tried many clutches and the latest one that I feel is the best is made by Bully. It was designed with the help from Pat @ Sportsman Flyer. Single disk, low RPM stall and smooth as silk. Available in 5/8 shaft and 3/4. My #1 choice.
