Well the crappy rag joint just broke some of my spokes making me replace my rear wheel. I am thinking that my next upgrade for my MB should be a new rear wheel. I got a 36 tooth and can touch the mid - high 30s: its time to upgrade. I have started poking around and I think that if I ever get round to building the darn thing this is what the wheel will consist of:
Hub: http://www.1977mopeds.com/parts/wheels-and-tires/brake-hubs/motobecane-av88-rear-wheel-hub.html Its a moped hub with 36 holes for 12ga spokes. Internal drum brake! Freewheel threads on one side, sprocket mounts on the other. These are the sprockets, they are cheap and available in many sizes: www.treatland.tv/leleu-rear-sprockets-puch-peugeot-motobecane-p/leleu-rear-sprocket-moped-puch.htm
w
would also be open or even prefer this hub because it uses sealed bearings (dreamy) if they get it back in stock, it would be more expensive tho b/c u need brake plate etc:https://www.treatland.tv/puch-moped-rear-spoked-hub-p/puch-rear-spoke-hub.htm
Spokes: for a 26 in rim: http://www.staton-inc.com/store/products/Spoke_12_gage_260_mm_for_26_wheel-780-21.html
12ga 260mm length. (3 cross pattern)
Now here is what I dont know: What rim??? Are there heavy duty rims available? will 12 ga spokes lace right into a standard rim or do they need to be drilled out?
Of course these would be set up with a pair of hookworms of quick bricks !
Need some $ then will get building lol...
