  • Just finished putting together the Schwinn Avenue with #2 Dax kit. #1 was "donated" to wife's bike in hopes of getting her outside. I haven't test run it yet. Better than before!
Looks like I get a day off tomorrow. (Sat 11/19) I may try the grubee on the Robrerts trail from the bottom end. If it works well I'll let you know, and try to record the avg. speed for reference.
I had one on my psychocross bike, but took it off last month to give to my wife. I haven't gotten a replacement yet, but I may order it tomorrow. I still have the grubee bike. I am willing to try riding from the north end of the greenbelt. If it doesn't go well, we could do a road ride from there. I could order a 44t cog from Dax and might just have to do that instead of getting the Dax kit right now. We should probably encounter a lot less traffic this time of year.
Howdy. I am in Greenville, but frequent Dallas and Farmers Branch for mtb riding.

I know of a trail we can do on mbs if we pick a time that it is not crowded. It is a jeep track for several miles from US-380 Farmersville, and later turns into a pretty flat, crushed limestone singletrack that runs up to Lake Ray Roberts State Park. It is very easy to navigate, and does not have close trees or sharp turns. I do not know if motor bicycles are excepted from the "no motor vehicles" rule, but I expect that no one will bother us or report us if we are polite and do not "buzz" anybody. The weeder engine bikes seem much more "socially acceptable" to many path users in my experience, esp at a low cruise instead of full roar. Roadies generally won't ride with me though or even wave (bike snobs).
