  • Sorry, I didn't get back to you on this. I havn't had the time to play around with my bike this summer due to pruchasing a different home & working my tail off this summer. The head won't affect the exhaust to my understanding. but you may want to do some modifications so the exhaust flange will match the exhaust port & make a larger diameter pipe for it. I did both & don't know for sure which helped the most but it made a big difference combined. How's your bike running by now?? I ruined a main bearing & tore it apart & haven't put it back together yet. I think I'll do some other improvements while I have it torn down.
I just used the next size standard bit that wouldn't go down the hole. I can't remember if I ended up going two sizes or just one. I had to push the head down to meet the cylinder with just a slight amount of pressure as it didn't fall down over the studs. I don't know if it would have been better to drill one size larger or not. I had no problem getting the holes straight the original holes served as a guide. I used an electric drill & I think it gave a smoother cut than I'd get with a hand drill. With the Puch head and the larger exhaust manifold on the flex pipe, the low end power is greatly increased. Pedal only to start and push off with my foot once it's running. I still don't have my expansion chamber connected to the pipe. I've been moving & fixing up my old house & the new one instead of playing with the bike.
