Anyone know where is the least expensive place to purchase the 4 cycle 4G T Belt kit with the non tapered shaft (the same one that Bicycle_Engines.com sells)?

Been looking for a 4 stroke kit myself for a Genesis Onyx 29er build, so I guess I'll fill you in on what i found:
Gasbike.net is the cheapest $379.74 shipped (your shipping may vary) Bicycle engines.com a close second at $387.79 and spookytooth and bikeberry which are the same thing with different names have what they call 5G kits both at $428.11
There's one on ebay for $318.50 shipped (10% off for another day or two): http://www.ebay.com/itm/221346194922
but it's a gearbox not a 4G belt drive.
I'm not sure who to go with myself, I've heard to stay away from the gearbox units and I've seen nasty reviews about Gasbike. Probably best to stick with Bicycle engines.com
Good luck and happy motoring!dance1

dont be confused between the 4g T-belt and the others labeled 5g, i helped out a few guys back in California get in to the motorized bike market and 2 of them made the mistake of buying the 5g engine kit and it is NOT a belt drive!

Names like Flying Horse 5g kit, or 4 stroke 5g kit are not T-belt driven transmissions.

Ive never bought one myself, but they are chain or gear driven gearboxes that are bound to fail from what ive heard.

With in a month both of them reported transmission problems, neither one of them cracked it open to see what went wrong, instead they junked the bikes and it ruined any chance of them getting into MB's again.

I recently bought the gasbikes 142f - all arrived quickly and in good shape - its not mounted yet tho - just got my axles today so I think I finally have all the parts. Its a 4g belt drive.

Not sure about the generator thing tho - I think there may be another model that comes with a built in generator (2014 version) - so Im still up in the air whether this one does or does not have the generator. I received an engine built in 2013.

I seem to remember the generator engine only came as a tapered shaft, and at the time never was sold as a full on kit with the T-belt drive. There was only 2 people i recall who had just the engine w/o anything else but the genny, one of those people was Terry Blow.

The way to tell was, tapered shaft,NOT the 5/8ths shaft, its 2 inches wider, the shrouds are black and there was extra wires in a harness for the genny output seen here on the bottom of this page http://blowbyu.ca/220601.html

if you know someone that sells a genny engine in a full kit with the 4G t-belt,please let me know. Im very close in money to buying one.

Just want to clarify since I just went though this, the GasBike.net/Kings 4g kits are NOT the 5/8" shaft, they are the tapered shaft with the 10/80 belt drive with freewheel, rather than the 12/100, solid pulley.

IMHO, if B-E has what you're looking for, get it from them. Don't waste your time trying to save a couple dollars by going through some other dealer - almost every other dealer has a worse customer satisfaction record from what I've read in the forums.

In the end you'll likely find that B-E is the easiest to deal with when it comes to these kits.
i agree while i've only dealt with B-E once i really couldn't be happier an will
deal with them again shortly (buying another 4g engine kit)

Hello 4 Strokers, I just received my 4 stoke kit from Kings. It was delivered just 4 biz days from when I ordered it. I haven't unpacked it yet but the packaging is excellent with no pkg damage. I hope I haven't screwed up ordering it from King. I would have check them out but I just found this forum. Going to put on my fendered Huffy.

I've ordered stuff from Kings before, no complaints whatsoever (and similarly fast shipping!). Unpack that beauty and start the fun part!
