Things change so quickly in the age of computers and rapid technology. I thought I'd clicked on to "mindless sphere" or "electric motorizedbikes .com"?

Seems like refined race type bikes are being washed out here and we must all be going electric or something? Not so much a dig, but any other thoughts on this? Should I not feel welcomed here anymore?

I like to see progression in the bikes we build, it's not all about non affordable electric bikes or the ever popular china girl......is it?

This is the Tavern.....right?

If they can afford batteries, its easy to see why they'ld try electric...a bike with 1500w and up is a force to be reckoned with. Batteries will eventually spell the doom of the small internal engine

There's an emotion, drama and experience you get with gas power that will be hard to replicate with electric... I'm wondering what it would be like to watch NASCAR with the volume turned off...

Where cattle outnumber people 3 to 1.
Fuel, compression, spark.
There is very little chance that we will ever be without internal combustion engines for our application. Electric bikes are cool- if you like electric bikes.

Scotto- The aspect of this thing we do, that you do, is so necessary. It's like the racing division at GM, I need to look at your Vette to get my Buick right. Invaluable research, trial and error, and lessons is what you have to offer this fine group, and I for one thank you for all the times you busted your butt so I don't have to!

Gas-bikes my friend, you are on the correct site.

sometimes when i look at new posts, there's ten of them about 4 strokes and not much else.

certain days, certain people can fill up the "today's posts" section with what they're interested in, be it gas, electric, weedwhacker, coaster brake problems...

the china definitely isn't going out of style, but it's obvious the electrics and four strokes are making their presence known.

nothing to worry about... :)

Lots of different flavored jelly beans in this basket!!

I like reading about all the different ideas on how to accomplish basically the same thing......the freedom of just 'going'!

They have a race car in Britain that is electric. With 850hp and a 200+mph top end it may well be a car to be reckoned with.

How ever it will never compete with the screaming whine of its gasoline powered brethren as it breaks out of a corner into the straightaway.

Eureka!

I think if you rode a fast electric you'd understand why they are popular. I like my electric just as much if not more than my gassers, the only thing it needs is a battery upgrade when the world exits the dark ages. The only problem with previous generations of electrics were that the people behind making them were dorks without performance in mind, the new kits and personal builds are really awesome.

THe rag women in the neighborhood prolly wish I rode my electric exclusively instead of mixing it up with my loud 2 strokes.

I think I would seriously consider electric when the technology brings us similar "fuel" power to weight ratio. ie: 1 liter of fuel = ~ 1kg of battery providing 1000 watts for 150km.... Might be waiting a while...
I hear a lot of the competition winning R/C machines are now electric.

......Think I might order an expansion pipe

You are all missing the point here.....it's not all about electric, diesel, gas, coal, pedal or lung power. It's about RACING! This site dropped the racing forum and for what reason......it hasn't been mentioned. That is the point.

its not dropped their is still a section to post on racing. extra forums mean extra load time. we still support racing and I love to read about them and wish I could go to a few. however it was not getting enough posts or reading to keep the forum dedicated to it. their is a few other sections I might be combining in the future also and may be starting some new areas.

I have no problems with electric bikes outside of the astronomical costs for hi-tech batteries that allow for a real ride of any kind. My second electric will more than likely be a full blown hoveround that will smoke every geriatric in sight! Wanna race?

Was just wondering why I see Trikes in three different catagory headings and recumbents in two??? No race bikes......reallllly?
