hey guys!

hmm I've thoguht about those rear mounts but the problem is that I'd have to take maybe even both wheels from the bike off because 2CV is wide 148 cm at the widest part! (less than 5 feet, about 4,86 to be exact)... maybe to produce a side mounted on the passenger side?!? that would be strange

I like the side mount idea, but it still increases the overall width of the vehicle. If that's not an issue, why are you concerned about the bike being wider than the car? Are you concerned about striking something (or someone)?

I'll just throw this one out there. I'm not reccomending it, but I also don't know how far or where you need to trailer your bike. I saw a photo of a motorcycle carrier that just held the front wheel chocked up against the rear of the car and let the cycles rear wheel ride on the ground. I'd make darn sure your clutch was disengaged, (zip tye?). Just a thought, but I'm not exactly reccomending it. It sounds like a like of unnecessary tire and chain wear.

Single rail trailer ,rail could fold so that it could be stored standing on end ,or it could be built lite enough to dis-assemble and take it inside,the car and bike are beautiful...

the story about the trailer will have to wait a while... the bike is again under construction so to say - few leaks appeared so I had to redo the tank ...the good thing is that I've found a guy that lives near by that will help me and also donate his services - he is very good car painter... beware the change of color will happen he he and a slight more vintage design will arise!

Dule, I love your bike! those forks are awzum! any chance while you have it apart to paint, you could measure them up and make a sketch of them? I'd love to make a set of them, but dont wanna reinvent the wheel.... hey if they turn out I will call them my "dule forks"....lol

unfortunatly the bike isn't at my place - it's at painters booth, and it is apart...maybe there will be a chance to measure'em and make a sketch for all of you that are interested... but I'll repeat the main part again.. MAYBE (it depends on the will of the painter - if he'll be up for the idea that I measure them, and my ability to make a good sketch...huh)

very nice bike. read your whole process. very inspiring.
been thinking about using fiberglass as tank but discouraged from doing so based on what i've read in the forum so far.
how is your tank so far? any reactions to the gasoline? you use unleaded right?

yes I use unleaded...i had some problems with the thank a few leaks appeared but I've decided to redo whole tank again so I applied a few coats of just epoxy resin on the inside of the tank a few coats on the outside + some critical places also received a bit of FG mat also in epoxy

About the forks I'll try to do the scheme for all of you who are interested, but after the vacation

and now for some pics. I've changed my MO completely - the work after fixing the leaks with epoxy moved from my balcony to a friends garage - he is a car painter and under his teaching eyes I've prepped and finished the bike all over again ...you can be the judge for the result...so far I'm more than satisfied all the pics were taken by mobile so, sorry for poor quality

after sanding blue paint off I've put a few coats of filler/primer

after that bottom side of the tank recieved a special rubber paint for protection

I've decided on the new color scheme "ebony & ivory live together in perfect harmony...." hehe

next day I've masked the ivory area and prepared the sticker logo (designed and printed on water based sticker paper)

a friend painting base color on the tank side

sticker in place

and under a few coats of clear

after both side completed we moved to the booth and painted the clear on the whole bike

shiny shiny hihihi

and today after the putting all the bits and pieces back on the bike I've took these pics

sorry - so excited that my hands were shaking

Your bike was nice before, but you've just lifted it up into the stratosphere. The paint is wonderful and the tank is something else. I guess this means the 2CV will be getting a makeover to match?

you're wright, it is the Red Baron - the flying Manfred is the name now... the base (the frame) is Felt's Red Baron model from 2004!
