Nice billet on there! Is that jims billet head I've been hearing about? I got the pk80j kit from pirate cycles today... you're making me wish I had waited for the performance kit! I'll get one for my next build... still don't have enough experience with these engines. Great looking stuff though! You guys should throw a performance kit on that luxury liner I saw on youtube...

I am thinking that the Worksman INB frame would look best with a period correct board track style tank. These tanks were very straight sided with a pulled in nose section. Something very much like this:

What do you guys think of this style?

I've considered the Worksman as well, makes a great basis for a BTR. Now when Acme gets it's V-twin out, you'd have a pretty good tribute to the real thing.

Pat,

I like it. I like it lots!!

We are trying to decide whether to go Period board tracker or vintage Schwinn on the tanks here guys. Sportscar Pat has offered his services to build Pirate Cycles 10 custom pirate tanks to go with our new worksman line of Bikes. We have taken him up on this offer. His work is astounding. These bikes will be offered as complete Diy packages. Bike, Motor, Custom Tank w Logo, sprocket adapter and sprocket, Bam... Your done. Less the install.

Bikes have been ordered with 36 tooth front sprockets to accommodate for the tight fit with the worksman frames. It's one less thing you need to do to it. Front Drums, Kevlar lined tires and puncture resistant tubes are a few other MB quality's these bikes carry.

Pat and I have decided on the board trackers and are just trying to get some other opinions here. I love the look, its slick and wind resistant. A Real Classic!

As always the community's opinions are appreciated here.

Justin

Thanks for the feedback Justin. The Schwinn tanks I build are based on the stock Schwinn fake gas tanks. My thoughts were that the Schwinn tanks look great on a Schwinn but would not look right on a Worksman. Let's take these Worksman Newsboy frames in their own direction and not try to make them look like a Schwinn.

I agree completely that it makes no sense to try to make a Worksman look like a Schwinn. The board tracker style tank is a better bet. Maybe leave it as an option whether it is painted or not. I have a Worksman newsboy model back in Minnesota that I'll be working on this summer, so I'm really interested in what you guys are doing. Can't wait to see your tanks, Pat!

Exactly Pat.

Make them look like Pirate Ships!!!!

Like the one pictured above with a ss scotch brite finish as discussed and skull and x bones as you described to me. Awesome.
Your the man in charge of tanks and I trust your opinions and suggestions.

One favor, Leave one of them with snotty welds for Taco. He likes that raw look. Trying to get the mad max drag bike look for the one hes building. Make it special for him if you can.

We appreciate it..

Silver bear

I must apologize. I think it makes no sense because I simply misunderstood Pat when he was explaining tank differences to me. I took it more as options for looks. My fault as I have never dabbled in the board tracker or vintage Schwinn world.
I was a Redline, mongoose, and GT style bike kid growing up. A schwinn stingray if anything. I never in a million years thought I would have a company surrounding beach cruiser bicycles.. LOL.. To me beach cruisers were cut out for my grandparents.
Then I realized how great they ride with a motor @ 25-30 MPH.. We are here now and there's no reason to do this half way. Stick around silverbear. We respect you and your similar likes for the industry... Where gonna make some cool things come together. We love this stuff!.

The option to paint the tanks will be up to the end user as Pat and I have agreed to give them all a ss da sanded scotch brite finish.

Pat do you have a website set up?
