i finally put my little crankenstein experiment on the dyno. i couldn't figure out an easy way to strap it on, so i had to start the bike in the street and ride up on it. getting the inertia wheel spinning smoked my clutch after a few runs and i had to limp it back to the shop. anyways, i got one solid pull and here it is. a little over 5hp at the wheel at 6800rpm. top speed of 47 which works out to almost 8800rpm, i probably could have wrung out 48 but i wasn't being too greedy. definitely not 50mph though. i think i may take a couple inches out of the pipe with another tiny dose of port work for the next expiriment.

I don't think there's any doubt that this one's gonna need better brakes!!
You're just a bump away from hitting that magical 50MPH mark that those other foolios think they can do!! ;)

it'd be cool if you could do a dyno comparison with a stock motor. it'd be interesting to see what kinda power output they have, and the difference between your "experiment."

one factor in your speed, however, is there's no wind resistance on a dyno. in real-world riding conditions, it'll be a little slower. (not trying to talk s**t, just pointing that out.)

it is awesome the amount of effort and imagination you're putting into this. i wish i had the tools to do the same...

you're right, i quadrupled the hp of your motor, but i cant comprehend wind resistance.

i would like to do a stock comparison, but i just cant seem to put a stock motor on a bike.

better brakes? i'm more worried about my frame falling apart, which it has tried to do a couple times already

you know how passionate everyone gets about "proof." we're just never satisfied

i could ride alongside you in a car, and still say, "yeah, well i dunno if my speedometer's calibrated..." ;)

i know, i know. my main focus was on the hp number, and the progression of the power curve, not so much the speed. besides, the case is about the only stock thing left on the motor anyway.

that is a really impressive carburetor. where did you get your carburetor because i have been planning to make my 80cc schwinn chopper hit 45mph. I have bought an occ chopper upgrdae kit and will probably receive it fri. of this week, it is coming with a new motor mount(not that i need it), heavy duty chain(really long), front and rear light kit with generator, and i have changed to a 36t sprocket. I have already made a custom exhaust and fabricated a motor mount and welding it to the frame to displace the engine enough to clear the rear tire. I am also palnning on buying hook worm tread front and rear racing tires. Here is what i have so far...

pretty impressive for what a 13yr old can do

you will need quite a bit more than a carb to get 45 but this carb is off a 110cc pitbike. theyre about 30bucks on ebay

let me gues a puch e50 jug from a maxi, if that is true why not install a 47mm metrakit jug xct2
