Very nice looking ride...
I usually use Treks, fishers or older Iron horses.
I've got my eye on a 21" GT Aggressor...I think it might look good with a black engine in it.

Man, I have a GT Avalanche 1.0 seems to be exactly like yours. But I having problems to motorize it, I can't fix the front socket of my 2 stroke engine on my frame and I see that u made some kind of adaption, can u detail this in pictures if that´s possible because I´m loosing my head because of this.

Yes, it is a King sprocket and adapter. The only thing I had to do is grind the heads of the bolts down.

Jnmotors sells the jaguar cdi.

Looks great! You should paint or put a 3" sticker on your clutch plate if you can find a good one. Might add a bit of needed color.
Im either going to put my motor on this bike or a smaller schwinn. Whichever will be better. The avalanche 2.0 is an aluminum frame right? Did you use some other kind of mounting method to prevent it from breaking the frame?

Just because the frame is aluminum does not mean that is going to break, snap or tear like aluminum foil. 6061 T6 aluminum is high grade, and very light. I have never used a steel framed bike, nor have I had any problems with my frames used. I'd say go for motorizing the GT mountain bike, because if you don't, it will always be in that back of your mind that, "I want that bike", and you won't be satisfied with your build until you get the GT.

Haha yeahh you're right :p. I think I will use the avalanche so long as it fits me. XL and im 6'1"

The reason I talk about it breaking is because I was talking with mdlee and he told me about how he's had experience with aluminum frames breaking. But I do suppose it is highly dependent on the frame #. Like my schwinn is 7005. Idk about the avalanche yet but it's 2005 if that's any help. I'll find out after the turkey break :)

I fabricated it myself using an exhaust hanger and a piece of steel. Then you weld it together.

Yes, a sticker or something would be nice.

Uhm, im not sure why it would break. It is a very strong and rigid frame.

My bike today looks pretty much the same, except for that I welded my exhaust, because the stupid spring and copper swivel thing was ridiculous.

I have lost a couple of bolts here and there, but I made do with what I had.

The carb is loose at the moment with a big air/fuel leak. Had to use electrical tape temporarily.

I have about 1000 miles on it.

And I have ordered an Avid BB7 200mm caliper with mount and G2 rotor for $73.

Hi,

Here is my 4th build. Probably the last.

I am building my first motorized bike and bought a gt avalanche today on craigslist and the engine will be here in about a week. Im just a little worried if the frame I bought was to small to mount the engine. I think its an 18 inch frame what was the size of your frame.
