Engine wont run smooth? Please help

I got 20 miles on a new motor maybe more, and now is acting up. It wont stay running , when i try to accelerate there is no power.. I checked the carb. and found nothing wrong with it.. The spark plug looks ok . I put a gallon of 20-1 .Then switched to 40-1 .. I'm stumped. any help would be great..

Are you sure the choke is in the right position?
Make sure it's off.

Switch back to 20:1 & see if it runs better??

What does "It won't stay running" mean?
It won't idle? It fires up then craps out? It runs so rough that you shut it off? Details man, details!

Maybe a air leak, I recently had simmilar problems and it ended up being the engine crank seal behind the little gear was not seated properly.Or the one behind the magneto , its easy so detect these prodlems as the cluth cover or the magneto cover will be covered in oil from the motor

I got it working. A short was the problem.. The wires were not insulated enough. And shorting out.. Making the kill switch go on and off quickly, and that why it seemed to be a carb or fuel problem.. Thanks for the feedback..
