Messed around this eve thinking on a flywheel cover.... What I am doing will add a little bit of legitimacy and the engine will look a little more period correct as they used covers very similar on the originals engines of course...

I had this old Briggs kick start motor cover and pinion gear cover here.. So I am adapted it to the Honda motor..I think it will look great..I will paint it the same color as the tank tomorrow and then on Monday I will have my buddy that made my tank decals, make a miniature decal for the flywheel cover.. Should look cool..Or to me anyway..Thanks

Sorry I forgot to answer a previous question..I am going to try a 60T rear..Hope it works out fine..That was a suggestion by another member here..

Here's something I did a few days ago. I had a spare 5hp flywheel cover and saw that is almost fit perfectly. This is also on a GC190.

Here is what I was doing today.. I got this windshield over at my Brothers as I mentioned.. I spent a few Hours wet sanding and polishing with the buffer and compound..It was pretty scratched up.. I made an aluminum plate for the bottom..I have some split collars to attach it to the handlebars.. But need to fabricate the mount system between those and the shield itself.. Not sure I am going to like it yet..But will have little invested in trying it.. And it is reversible of course..Here is a pic of it just sitting on there..It is not near as large on there as the pic shows..I think it is kinda like a optical illusion of the Camera..Kinda like holding a fish way in front of you for the pic..So the fish looks bigger..Trick camera angles,LOLThanks
I redid headlights on a Porsche boxter like that for a friend at one point. They wanted 800 bucks a piece for oem replacement lights. A quick sand woth increasing grit and 2K clear paint, and new LED bulbs they looked brand new.

It sometimes pays to do a little work than pay the price.

I had to do quite a bit of modifying to get the old vintage Briggs cover on though..That looks like a much better fit to begin with..

I did go ahead and make mounts for the visor today. I am still not sure on it. It is something that was period correct and sure could have been there..And was probably the Cool thing back then. But if I decide to take it off.. No big deal. A few minute job..

I think I may shorten it up a few inches if it does not grow on me enough.. It might look better shortened a few inches..I know I am the only one that has to like it or not.. Does not really matter otherwise.. But just cannot really decide..

I can see some advantage in it as far as safety in that it does give the little Bike a little more stance so drivers may see more easily..Today we need every advantage we can get,LOL

Well I went ahead and shortened the Shield 3.5 Inches this morning and decided I like it so it will stay.. If it had come to me more complete and had a visor originally..I sure would not have discarded it.. So there is probably not much more I will bother you with my crazy stuff. You are probably getting fatigued from my updates..LOL

Maybe some riding updates next spring..Thanks

Oh yeah, many a bugs in my long life of riding bikes.. Worse time I ever had contact with a bug, it was a bumblebee..It glanced of my upper body, but did not die a quick death..Landed over by my hand somehow and it was alive enough and angry enough to sting the area between my thumb and forefinger..Swelled like a balloon.

Though I do not anticipate more than maybe 40MPH on a downhill roll..It could happen again,LOL

Kinda a last thing I am finishing up..I did not really like the round 3/4 inch stud sticking off the kickstarter the way it was made..So I went out in the backyard and grabbed a pedal off a old Bicycle..And drilled and tapped the kicker for that pedal..I like it better than what the guy that makes the setup did. Thanks

Probably though, you are not thinking to ride it where non-motorized bicycles only are allowed with the single pedal for the kickstarter.

I suppose you could possibly say, one pedal means only half the usual fine.

The care you take and make the bike look more authentic to the period is just marvelous!

I'm finally finishing with my pickup truck resealing the waterproof gasket to the camper shell. It is important so when I finish a valve job on the Briggs, I can look to go the OHV areas to ride and camp in the cooler time of year in Northern CA. I just need to also do the fold down camper shell window adjacent to the cab window where that seal is worn out after 14 years.

Yeah that pedal only serves one purpose. To start the motor..It is just like any standard kickstart on any MC..It is not a propulsion element at all if that is what you are getting at. Where in Northern CA do you live..My Brother lives in a small place called Mineral. He has some off road MCs and Mini Bikes he and his Daughter ride around the area.

Mendocino County only takes a couple hours to go east in Lake County for BLM area of Mendicino National Forest OHV areas. RiderPlanet has all details. Fire ravaged left it unusable for a while and now it is needing more time to regrow still. I see Mineral is close to Susanville. That is close to Black Rock Desert where I had been to many prior Burning Man Events. I don't plan on getting the cover I had planned on making the Briggs bike an Art Vehicle that was to look like a California Sheeps Head Fish. The centrifugal clutch even with close to 20:1 is not very good to climb hills, but I did some trails and fire roads that were fun.
