Anyone ever run out of gas?

Stevenn, glad to hear that there is nothing wrong with your bike that some fresh fuel wont fix. It doesn't matter whenever I run out because I have a front hub motor to get me there in any case.

    Newfoundland t railway

Stevenn, good luck with planned cross country tour. I made that very same trip by rail many years ago so I know you will be seeing lots of wonderful country on your way. Do not forget to take a supply of chain master links etc and tire patching items with you. Enjoy your adventure and post lots...

    Wont start, to much fuel?

Try removing the spark plug with the fuel shut off and pedal around until the mixture coming from the open cylinder is dry to the touch. The engine crankcase may be full of fuel mixture in which case it has to come out before the engine can start.

    My bike wont idle

Danny, It is not supposed to idle with the clutch engaged. Perhaps your clutch is not fully disengaging and needs adjusting.

    Wont start, to much fuel?

Is there fuel dripping from the carburetor like a float valve is stuck. If so try shutting off the fuel at the petcock under the tank and try a start with a clean and dry spark plug with the correct gap.

    Wont start, to much fuel?

Those little 2 stroke usually start very easily (assuming it is a two stroke). Are you sure the choke in in the off position, they only need choke in cold weather.

Curtis, yes you are right, it is still bent it was bent much more when I started and I have more straightening to do before it is running true.

Adding Gears to Phatmoto Rover II

5-7, no just very stubborn. I never dreamed it was going to so much fiddling to get it to work.

Adding Gears to Phatmoto Rover II

I just did a 15 K test of the of my bike with the front derailleur engaged in high gear and I was able to achieve my goal of keeping up and contributing pedal power with the governed engine running at full speed. The video shows the sprocket is not running true but it was good enough to not...

Adding Gears to Phatmoto Rover II

The thicker frame was only part of the problem. The other problem was, the Derailleur could not reach the sprockets because of the wide pedals on the Phatmoto but by attaching an adapter to the existing clamp it now reaches. I just did a 15 K test of the of my bike with the front derailleur...

    Can I idle without pedalling

Here is my method for starting and warming up before riding; get yourself a center mounted kickstand (one that holds the rear wheel above the ground), start the engine by giving a swinging kick to the pedal and pop the clutch at the right moment. With a little practice you will be able to do it...

Adding Gears to Phatmoto Rover II

Are there any Phatmoto owners here? I have been gathering parts for one of my pet projects; adding gears to the pedal system. I have found the single speed front and rear sprocket arrangement does not always meet my needs, as one of my interests in bike riding is gaining exercise and when I am...

    Pedal/Electric/Gas Beach Cruiser

Jerry I love your idea of building a set-up around the hybrid gearbox. You have to choose the right controller to do REGEN when running on gas power and a direct drive Hub motor. I had it for a while until I tried controlling speed of two systems with the same twist grip throttle, I managed to...

    rear tire seized

. Mark k, The pin is held in place by the cam which is in turn held by the cover, there is a single ball bearing at the inside head of the pin. I have attached a screen shot of that part of the assembly

    rear tire seized

Mark k! Not sure what pin you are referring to is it the one for releasing the clutch? Sometimes a loose drive chain can bunch up and jam (kink) inside the front sprocket cover. If this happens it is necessary to remove the three screws and take off the cover. If the master link is showing try...

Phatmoto 2020 wide pedal crank kit?

Weakbiskiscuites, I ordered a lower bracket kit from Gasbike a little while back and they sent a kit of parts with a shaft similar to the one shown in your second picture. May be this is what they are selling these days for rebuilding the lower bracket? Forget the sprocket and crank arm shown in...

    resistance when pedaling

Waleed_abd0 Sounds like your chain sprockets are misaligned some. Chain drag is always a problem and if you get and install the HybriPed Hybrid Pedal Sprocket you can eliminate it when ever you want. If you watch this video of my bike you will see the Hybrid sprocket in action.

What is your sweet spot motorized bicycle speed ?

5-7 HEAVEN, those are very good techniques and the 25-30 numbers are respectable but they sound a little beyond my comfort zone. I am sure you would agree when you see me in action.
