Bout ten years ago, I designed a shed roof, wood shed framed up with Douglas Fir and floored with White Oak 8x4 pallets. The floor and framing have held up well. But the spruce slab wood siding Bark on from an Amish sawmill has not fared as well and the genuine deer antler handle got chewed up by squirrels.
Uncle Tom's Cabin as I called it could as designed take 3 cord stacked tight to the walls.
With the new Canadian EPA rated wood stove our longest Springs use 2 1/2 cord of Ash.
But When I bought in where was nuthin but trees and tree frogs. The land around me got deforested and now gentrified. 1/2 mil homes and that was before home prices got nuts. So I thought before they condemn me I better try to do some property improvement. Wood shed and the crap I had piled against it to resist rain and snow had to go.
Menards delivered a Versitube ATV shed with special order extra siding to fully enclose it against the weather.
The 7Wx10Lx6H work out to a bit more than 3 1/4 cord capacity.
I think they screwed me on the price. VersaTube® 7' W x 9' L x 6' H ATV Shelter Material List at Menards®
So the develop the story more, frame and siding got dropped Friday at 1PM, 6/25.
Air was muggy and temp was pushing 90F in the shade. I broke open the strapped frame and went at it.
I know I won't get much sympathy, but 71 ain't 50. Beer never tasted so good and I sweat most of it out.
Yesterday, Saturday was rainy so shop time.
Made Mona bacon, hash brownd taters, and eggs sunny side up for brekky.

Back at the new shed and while I don't recommend it because it is fraught with instant disaster, single handing the siding can be done. Kind of like drywall. You need propper props.

Mag visor works well so far, I didn't expect much for $15 but in the short run it's really helpful. Great range of adjustment and light is good for the focal lengths possible, 5 lenses 1x to 5x power range.
Battery rechargeable, but no idea how much time before discharge.

Very light weight. No idea how much abuse it can handle, not much I'd guess but for $15 bucks I'm not worried.

Visually appear the same Tom except even less costly. I chose the one that showed a charge cord with it. Some of these only state with batteries, but don't state rechargable battery or show the cord. Others clearly state the battery size (double or AAA) in the description. I paid a bit more to make certain it was rechargeable.

I'll tell you for true, back in the day the Opti Visor with out light was the cat's meow. Had I come to work with that fancy head light magnifier like yours 50 years ago, I mighta got been advanced to management.
Reading verniers was tough even on young eyes. Dial read outs were just coming in and digital read outs were still in the future.
Never did go digital. Not that i didn't use them. They shine when coolant and chips would kill rack and pinion.

Tom I can now actually use my mics without worry of false readings. More light and now added light at higher power, great combo for aging vision.

As they are not designed to offer much in the way of eye safety they won't be used for actual machine operation just inspection and layout or actual fitting. The exception is tool grinding used with full face shield.

Other than duribility I can't at this moment think why would I pay more for a mag visor?

It appears that they have a nose piece, can they be worn with eye glasses ? I’ve been using opti visors for years, at work on my bench and at home in my shop. Granted mine don’t have the headlight attachment, but the ease of lifting it up to use my regular glasses is a plus for me. I’ve worn bifocals since I got out of grade school.

Great question OB so yes they can be used together and the kit comes with a head strap which works fine to replace the "legs" of the visor & allows easy use of your regular glasses or safety glasses with the visor. I had not tried using the visor with my bi focals but have them on over my glasses right now using both with their legs and no strap. I can flip the visor lens up and out of the way easily. Both glass optics remain extremely stabil in use and visor lens can be adjusted with one hand.

Thanks for helping me out with this question as it will greatly enhance my use of the visor with both my safety glasses and my bi focals.

I plan to ask my good friend, a retired dentist, questions about using the visor and also guys like Pete, who've worked in miniature for many years, for useful tips on.

I'm going to keep this combination on for several hours straight this morning as I go about my normal activities. The added weight isn't that noticeable yet, but extended wear will tell the real story. The combination seems to stay put no matter the head position.

I will turn the light on to test it's capacity too. Hope to get a couple of hours at high setting. Also get a recharge time from full discharge.

Thanks again for the question.

Eleven hours later and visor lamps are still burning on high. More than meets my minimal expectations for sure.

Wearing visor over glasses was cut short after a couple of hours, but that too was a positive test. Just had to take care of some business. I did start to feel the extra weight of the visor after wearing for over an hour, but not bad.

I'd think the expensive visors are much better and more comfortable and robust. Yet the price is the deal breaker. I need help on occassion not all day every day.

If I had it to do over again I'd still buy this visor!

Tom the high powered models were 5x that cost only a few years ago. They are amazing. My bike lights are amazing and have been dependable over the half dozen years I've used them. Super brite. I don't often ride at night but when I do I'm really visible and I can see the roadway well. I'm guessing the cost around $50 or so.
