Front suspension is nice too. When you're going 30 versus 15mph like most cruisers go its really nice to have it.

I think I have replaced all the things on your list also for what its worth. Still using the rag joint, but replaced all the other items. 420 chain, ditched the exhaust gasket, new fuel line, new bolts, new tensioner.

I was not sure if I would be able to get this build actually working so I did not want to spend a lot of $ for another bike to sit in my garage.

After all my upgrades, i must say i have about 30 miles on this thing so far and every day / trip i go over and make sure all the bolts are still tight. Every 1-2 days i take a wrench and torque everything down just to be safe!

I did order a new rear wheel and front hand brake.

I putt around about 10mph in my neighboorhood and have a blast. Alot of my neighbors have stopped me and asked me where i purchased this bike from when i tell them i 'built it' they all want the details.

The summer of 2016 riding my Huffy Davidson around our small town had an effect. The next Spring a youngish fellow rides down my driveway. He wanted to show me his China Girl. He told from watching me ride he got the bug. He had some small problems early on, and came and consulted with me to rectify the bikes problem. Having scoured the forum while building my Huffy, I was always able to quickly get him back on the road.

I use an old school side pull. Not to the same standard as the Campagnolo side pulls on my Schwinn Paramount.
But a side pull, center pull, or better yet v brake. My Township recycle regularly has free mountain bikes with V brakes.
I have no clue how a disc brake could be set up on a Cranbrook.

I’m going to do a disc on my cranbrook, will have to lace in a center hub to mount the rotor and weld on the caliper mounts. I posted on another thread that the last time I relaced a wheel it was hard to get it true.
