Brake questions

I have a hyper cruiser 49cc 4 stroke build with stock wheels, I’m currently using v brakes and they SUCK!!! Do I remove the paint on my wheels? Are there disc brake adapters for non threaded hubs? I’m lookin at improving my braking for under 50 bucks and idk where to turn

You can change brake pads, try different compounds till you find what you want. I added side pull brakes to both of my beach cruisers to assist the coaster brake, after trying a few I found pads that work. Mine are bmx pads from eBay I think.

Before I switched to disc brakes, I found that the Kool Stop Salmons were the best (by far) pads for the caliper brakes. If you can't find them locally, you can get 'em here at the following link...…
