Clutch Problems

I was cursing all day the other day, slowly, to seat some new rings in a new cylinder and after a short stop, the clutch won't dis-engage. Ok, so I'll start with what I have already done so our posts don't get redundant. Checked the clutch cable adjustment, checked my camshaft which I pre-fabbed awhile ago out of a 1/4" ratchet breaker bar because the steel they use on the stock ones is garbage, checked the bucking bar, replaced my woodruff key on the small sprocket (had to be done due to earlier prob), checked to make sure clutch plate is moving and releasing from clutch pads, checked the "flower" nut and the bolt behind it to make sure it didn't come loose. And, with all that I still cannot get the engine to go into a neutral state of being so that it won't die at a stop sign. Any help here would be super groovy. Thx

Sorry, I guess i should mention that i have a Zeda 80 Firestorm that I have had for close to a year. I've done some work on it including 2 new upper half of the engine. The second just the other day. I'm hard on it, what can i say? The replaced cam shaft, a replaced throttle, replaced CDI and magneto, and this is the 2nd bike I've put her on.

if you can see the plate moving out, but clutch is not free, then I'd guess the hub bearing is locked up - if your pads show tiny bits of steel wire sticking out, then one of those can jamb the bearing - I check for that often and trim off any that stick out

Hey, thanks for responding. Turns out the clutch assembly was totally siezed up. I had an extra so I just switched it out. Havent had any time to investigate and see about the cause or reasons, but ill let you guys know when i do. Thx again. L8

I am building a new bike kit and aI purchased from Amazon. I am having problems with the clutch not releasing. The cable and lever move correctly but the clutch does not disengage.This is my first build and I have not idea what to do next. I have watched a half dozen build videos and they seem rather incomplete with more boasting on how easy it is rather than the details of the build. Know a better site AND/OR can you help me with some guidance?

Just built my first bike and the clutch wont disengage. Don't know how to or where to check clutch plates as the clutch case and cable/lever install is all I have done. I could you some guidance on where and how to check clutch plates. Thank You.

The clutch is probably just stuck from sitting in a box for months.

Pull the handlebar clutch lever IN & roll the bike back & forth until it breaks free.

If you don't have the chain on yet?, simply use a flat head screw driver to turn the engine sprocket to break it free.

Getting to be a common issue.
With clutch lever squeezed and locked, pull the 5 bolt cover off and lightly tap it with a hammer all the way around it will make a soft Pop sound when it releases.

Arrrrr these chinese motors suck the biggest balls but i gota have my motobike running .......SO as of last night after hours and hours of confusing my self with this new clutch problem that I'm now experirencing,i have not fixed **** yet cause i dont know what im doing,my prob is the same as explained above ,i pull the lever and the disengage part does not disengage fully so walking my ride is a total ***** when the clutch is ******* up........alas its 10:30 in the morning here in californ and **** man im gonna go take this ******* bike appart so i can start my day off wrong and fix this f.u.c.k.i.n.g clutch issue ,

Tried to explain my issue with this fuckin clutch to my gf and it takes some dumbing down for her to understand what im trying to explain and i feel like im the one who is the dumb one trying to explain how this clutch system works ..... not only clutch problems ......over

Excuse the language got a bad habit and now for the bike clutch problem that I've experienced come to find out the cable housing next to the cylinderhead had melted and ao i put a cheep cable housing from Bell bicycle cable replacements and the cable was having didiculty sliding through the curves of the placement anso the button on the clutchhandle is wearing out so now ive eplaced the cable and housing with better cableparts and but still the button is wearing out ill just buy a new one allas up to date and still rolling and now off to other issues, thanks all

About me: I am new to moped. The engine has less than 50 miles. This is my second attempt building a moped.

With the introduction out if the way,I need help to solve a clutch problem. Here are the symptoms:
I pull in the clutch level.
Pedal the bike.
Let out the level.
The motor won’t turn on.
With the clutch level still out and no engine power, I am still able to pedal the bike.
Usually the engine turn on when I let out the clutch or I can’t pedal with engine off and clutch level out.
What did I do wrong and how do I fix the issue.

Look on you tube for videos on how to adjust your clutch flower nut. Then look for video on how to start your bike.

I know how to start the bike.

My problem is that I don't know how to adjust the clutch yet. I have seen the video that show how to adjust the clutch. I have worked on the clutch flower nut to the point that the cheap screw that hold the flower nut in place is stripped. Now i have to find a replacement for it. I went to ACE hardware store to find a similar screw but **** out of luck.

Anybody know what size of the screw to replace it? I really want to learn how to fix this common problem. but If i can't adjust the flower nut, my last resort is just swap in a new engine.
