Suggestions on shaft 43cc 2 stroke pole chain saw motor

Next motor I'm doing a build with 43cc 2 stroke with cent clutch from a pole chain saw. It actually sounds really good and quiet looking forward to this build. Brainstorming about the shaft. Not using a tranny going direct belt drive to a rim pulley. I'm attaching the rim pulley in a way I haven't see anyone do(no welding either) & I think is going to kick ass. Just planning out the shaft that will have a 3 in V belt pulley. I've already got the gear ratio down strictly looking at options for the shaft.
The shaft is tapered & hollow(from housing a worm drive for the pole chain saw).
I know some of the HuaSheng 49 cc 4 strokes have a tapered shaft that has something like a 22 tooth timing pulley(not trying to go with a timing belt on this one). Is there a way to get a v belt pulley on this shaft?.
Should I just remove this shaft from the clutch bell & change it to a 1/2 in or 5/8 shaft(actually not hard to do?
Should I find a different bell housing all together?
Different clutch flywheel & bell all together?
I believe it's the same bolt pattern as the popular motors for bikes engines/Robin Subaru/Tanaka/Honda/Mitsubishi

Any thoughts?

Oh yeah it's going to be a rear rack build on a dual suspension Mongoose Snarl(or snare maybe). It was $400 when it was new at Walmart. I got it used for $50.
Front & rear disc brakes quick release front & rear axles plus seat. I don't think I could have done much better for the price. I wanted dual suspension & atleast 1 disc brake so I'm happy with it.

If you wanna go belt drive, you should get a GEBE. With that engine though, I would get a friction drive from Staton that will mount up to that clutch.

Appreciate the input Bonefish. I had a friction drive that was fun for awhile. I'm just over burning up tires when I hit a puddle & would like to ride even if it just got done raining.I want the reliability & convience of a belt drive. Vbelt seems like the way I want to go. Eventually I'll do a build with a toothed timing belt but for now I'm focusing on wrapping up my last build & planning this one.
