Hi all im here hoping to meet fellow motorbicyclists in Maine to ride with and ANYone to discuss bikes and engines of any kind with!! Right now I only have 1 bike, its a 4stroke 99cc Predator on a Felt frame, but ive built and owned several bikes in the past. They were all 2stroke China kit motors on various frames. This is my second 4stroke and by far my favorite bike to date!! Hit me up! Peace!! ✌

No kit for a 79 or 99, you have to be pretty handy to build one.
The ones ive built were 2strokes like i said. I beleive this is a 99cc predator clone by Chongqing RATO co. It has a centrifugal clutch and jackshaft added with a custom gearbox.

I know you can get a 79cc 4stroke engine from Harbor Freight. Mines a 99cc from some Chinese co. I think its what they call a clone. As for a four stroke kit im not sure ive only ordered and built 2strokes myself. I bought this 4stroke and i think its just a motor with custom parts like the drive shaft/transmission etc .Looks like it might have parts from one of those 80cc monster kits.

Starting with a 2 stroke kit is what most people do, we learned a lot from the problems we had and from the members here on the forum. Then people branched out to the more challenging do it yourself non kit four strokes. I myself did it backwards, my first was a 3hp Briggs about 45 years ago.

Thats terrific Greg! My first basic knowledge of engines came from learning how to take apart and rebuild Briggs engines and dirtbikes as a teen but my first motored bike wasnt until 6 or 7 yrs. ago and then i had the FEVER!! I love working on and fixing them just as much as riding!! So yes im glad I found this site..it seems like a great wealth of info! ..couldnt seem to find any others that were really up to date actually. Ihope im posting/replying in the right places. Right now im waiting for a new centrifugal clutch for my bike..its pretty much the first repair thats had me grounded with this 4stroke.✌

If you are looking for anything motor bicycle related try the search box near the top of the page, there's a lot of archived information available.

General- I built that bike. The engine is a Harbor Freight Predator 99cc, I bought 9 of those engines when they were discontinuing it and replacing it with the lower power 79cc. I have a new clutch for sale that I used when I built the bike, not sure if you had the same clutch on it when you bought it. Even if you already ordered a new clutch you should have a spare new one, they only last so long. This is my ad for the clutch in the for sale section > https://motorbicycling.com/threads/agk-max-torque-clutch-high-stall-version-new.62796/
I think I also have a new in box spare spark plug, I'll look to see what model it is and see if I can find the correct gap info.
Here are pics of the bike when I sold it last fall >

It used to have a vintage gas tank on it but it leaked so I replaced it with the nice new aluminum one you have now.

I used to have a spare engine with a custom made rope pull flywheel that I was going to put on the bike to complete the vintage look. But I got into electric bikes and sold the Felt MP and then the spare engine.
