Hi Motor bicyclers I know from experience that we like to run wheels that have 12g spokes. But the only problem is that its hard to find them for Mountain bikes. Well it was hard for me to find them. Any ways I did find some that where pretty cheap (around $50 with expedited shipping) and so far run great. This wheel is a freewheel style so you do need to get your own freewheel gear set which i found on the wal- mart website (it has a LOT more than you would think) for about $15 dollars (before shipping and taxes(i live in CA)). Anyways here it ishttp://www.walmart.com/ip/Sta-Tru-26x2.125-Rear-12G-Fw-Steel-36H-Wheel/32312653 Well I did my part and shared what i found have fun out there and be safe this is G3R0N1M0 signing off have a great night/morning/day!

It's good of you to share it. And I'll keep the wally world website in mind for components.

Good wheels, and components for that matter, can also be found at huskybicycle.com

From my experience on bicycles, I've found that the gauge of spokes question takes a back seat to the quality of wheel build and riding style.......

......An assist engine's output is significantly dampened by overweight wheels. Amateur riding with heavy sitting can knock a wheel out of true quickly as well.
Light and strong wheels with smart riding is the objective, from my experience.
Absolutely true, Aleman.

A good comparison would be a canoe. Have you ever been in one with someone who just doesn't 'get it'? It's pretty awful. While canoeing with someone who knows how to 'roll with the punches' is so much better.

I'm pretty good at saving my bike from shocks. But I'm only so-so at trueing wheels.

I do hope 11 gauge wheels aren't overkill. Because I'm about to try my first one.

So I'm willing to believe that a good quality 14 gauge with good maintenance and good rider is strong enough. But I'm also willing to believe that that's a difficult combination.
