    Sprocket for electric bike

You're right, I forgot about the internal gear reduction in the 2 stroke motors. I'll get the biggest sprocket I can find (currently 74 tooth) which sets the speed tentatively to 35mph. Which surely this motor won't be able to push to. I'm not really planning on riding this bike around...

    Sprocket for electric bike

Oh, I was just going to use the wheel from customotoredbicycles.com. It's just using a 6 bolt disc brake adapter. I think those T8F sprockets are too small? I suppose I'll need to drill my own holes in the sprocket so that I can bolt it to the disc adapter?

    Sprocket for electric bike

I'm trying to find a sprocket to go with the motor I have, a MY1020 that has a T8F drive sprocket (11 tooth). It maxes at about 3k rpm. I was just going to get a 44 tooth sprocket I think. Anyway, I can't find any sprockets that will go with the T8F chain, and I can't find a drive sprocket for...

    Sprocket mounting techniques?

I'm unfamiliar with chain ratings, but it says to have a 8mm (T8F) chain compatibility. So I can get a 72 tooth like this for only $20. I love it! Still searching for an 80 tooth in this chain size. I could get a different drive sprocket that would match the 80 tooth sprocket too...

    Sprocket mounting techniques?

I was just going to use a front disc brake and a rear rim brake. You're right, 1.4kw isn't a 'muscley' amount of power. Especially so as the motor is labeled as a 1kw motor. Dangit, I was hoping the 72 tooth would bring it down far enough. I'm hoping to avoid having to go through more...

    Sprocket mounting techniques?

Sounds like the disc brake hub will be the best way to go! I'll look around for an adapter. I've heard mixed reviews on many vendors though. This site has some good stuff that I'd be looking for it seems...

    Sprocket mounting techniques?

That sounds like the mad mechanics sprocket axle clamp. My current wheel has 32 spokes which would render it unusable sadly. I could make one, but I don't want to put that much work into this part of the project. After I bought the motor and got my motor controller circuit working, I realized...

    Sprocket mounting techniques?

I'm making an electric bike (circuits and all) right now and have been thinking about how I'm going to drive the rear wheel. I have a 1kw electric motor that will be mounted above the rear wheel. It spins to ~3000 RPM at 48 volts. It's rated for 30 amps at that voltage, which is 1.4kw. I...

Super cool man! So is it anything like a morini?

How do I know the Engine I just got is a Flying Horse?

The grips have nothing to do with it. Mine came with plane old grips and nothing to indicate it was a flying horse. In fact I didn't even get the color that I ordered. But, I still got an engine that ran great for 500 miles till I sold it. (I did find the black gasket shavins on top of my...

thinking of doing a dax ktm build, but need help

Just what I heard from someone else, guess I shouldn't really comment on it. Somethin about the clutch having a very odd engagement

thinking of doing a dax ktm build, but need help

If that's the case, this motor would be great. I edited my post above if you didn't see it. A build will cost you 1000-1200 probably. Assuming you don't have a bike yet for it. I'm hoping to do one soon in the future too!

thinking of doing a dax ktm build, but need help

You can't cruise with these motors either. It's either floor it or idle. The clutch doesn't work to only go 20mph. Considering it's meant to be in a dirt bike, it makes sense. You can adjust the clutch to try and get it where you're comfortable, but it will never work like a 4 stroke build...

    Morini clone build

Cool! You may just be the inspiration I need to build my own :D Looking forward to see how you fit the pipe. My concern about cutting up the pipe for this is that you'll lose the full potential of the expansion chamber
