    The first one you showed is a total ripoff- it's a dollar part, not a ten dollar part. Order a new petcock assembly from any of the vendors here or on ebay.

    Can you delete the rear "plate"? That would buy you a bit more roomso your studs will be long enough. It's ok to use a dremel or a sanding drum and modify the engine mount as to accommodate the frame tube, just don't over do it. Also, a nut only technically has to be on.... threads sticking out...

    I don't think he's talking about four stroking, unless YOU are speaking of the 2cycle/4cycle break, as when a two stroke is tuned perfectly, which then only only happens at light load/cruise condition, and not every 5 seconds.

    Have you checked your gas cap to be sure it's venting properly? That will cause them to starve out as well.

    Look closely. If it's rolling 5 feet, it's disengaging. It's something else binding or catching. Post a pic of the whole drivetrain.
