I bought the basic 40 expansion chamber exhaust w.o. muffler and didn't know how loud it is.the one with cylinder stinger muffler wouldn't have fit due to kickstand.if I run it with a 45deg brass fitting fastened to the stinger with a Briggs lawnmower muffler.can type with holes..is this gonna cause issues or invalidate exp chamber.makes it quieter and runs OK ..also new e plug..but will the extra restriction cause heat? If not I'm thinking about buying the cylinder four inch Briggs and having it welded.any other suggestions are appreciated.

Technically, no, it shouldn't rob any power as long as it's not too restrictive.

All the action occurs inside the pipe, and as long as the stinger size is correct, the muffler just quiets it down.

Since an x chamber is basically recycling the exhaust gasses, the end is like a bleed valve for spent gasses.
