rim strips?
today i dropped off me new back wheel to get it trued up at my favorite LBS
i also purchased some tubes and some killer tires
i asked about rim strips for my wide rims and he told me to use electrical tape and save myself some money
anybody wanna confirm this?

Yes that will work. Old tubes also work, you just gotta cut the strips out of those.

I routinely throw out the old rotting rim strips and replace them with electrical tape.

That reinforced "strapping" tape works, too.
I use either that or Velox "Fond du Jant" cotton tape.
