Schwinn Delmar - First build

I’ve got about 300 miles on it so far. I try to ride it almost every day. I’m still working on some things. I plan on tearing it down and painting when I’m done welding things. I replaced the downtube with one that I bent up to fit the motor better. It tops out at 30mph on the flat. Almost 35mph with a good tailwind or slightly downhill. It cruises best at about 25mph. It has a 6v battery and charging system. I laced a Sturmey Archer drum brake to the front. The drum brake works OK but I would probably use a disc brake next time. Even though they’re not legally required, I’m probably going to add turn signals. I already have the wiring in place.

above the front fender is a hole where the fender bolts to,buy a caliper style brake and bolt it there and mount brake lever on handlebars.

How did you get the California plate? is it for a moped?
