Default giant yukon?

sorry guys, only my second post here, and my first was pretty much the same questions, but possibly wrong forum section...
i've got two giant yukons, mine and my wife's... a medium frame and a 2x (i'm nearly 7ft tall)
anyway, they were expensive(for me) and i don't want to ruin them. my plan as of now is a dax 48cc and a shift kit from sick bike parts for each... giant uses oversized frame tubes, they are aluminum... are there any obvious reasons the kits i've chosen won't work easily or well on these bikes? oh and i've read deraleur quality is important... is shimano deore good enough to take the shift kit? i don't want to destroy them and wish i hadn't! thanks in advance,
Robert.
