some where in the video I'm measuring the dia of the cable end ferrule I say its 0.016 should be 0.116 my uncle caught that.
Bob and I did a cable end by pouring it, his camera acted up I think he didn't get it on video so he's never posted it or else I was cussing too much???... I just don't know.

Re: Norm shortening a throttle cable
Nice how-to flick
So why did you do that? only to be able to push that cap up some on the cable?
or am I missing something??

Re: Norm shortening a throttle cable
He had the adjustment all the way out on the carb taking up the slack. So he did it to take the slack out and show other people how to do it. Norms just that kind of guy.................

Re: Norm shortening a throttle cable
Ok so the cable was too long? couldn't you just do some creative cable mounting to counter that ?

Re: Norm shortening a throttle cable
not if you want a shorter cable or need to make that cable end it was for showing how to do it mine was way to long so I used it for the show and tell. made the adjusting part not stick all the way out when I was done shorting the inner cable.

Re: Norm shortening a throttle cable
I've used this method to make new throttle cables from brake cables instead of waiting for one to come in from a vendor.

Re: Norm shortening a throttle cable
Thanks for sharing. My cable is way too long. Why in the world is there so much slack in the cable? I guess it's another poor quality control thing. So I went to the hardware store and bought the required materials and will try it out on some surplus cable and then go for it on the real thing.
