Default Attaching a Sturmey Archer drum brake.

So, I have gotten a new front wheel with a drum brake hub and I am trying to figure out the install. My current situation is that the stationary brake arm is about one inch away from the fork and I'm not sure how to go about attaching it. I have a Huffy bike with the fat front forks so the bracket they sent with the wheel will not come anywhere close to fitting. I'm showing it in place with a cable tie I used to temporarily hold it while I put the wheel on the bike. Any ideas out there?

I would fill the gap with some layers of heavy tubing and use a hose clamp
on non-cruiser type forks, they can be a PITA
(I had to drill and bolt it to my Deviate forks)

I just thought I would post my solution here. On another thread Bill had commented about how the attached arm made it difficult to remove the front wheel. Combining that idea with his hose clamp comment I came up with this. I used a 3/4" copper coupling and two 2" hose clamps. It works so far although I haven't ridden it much so far and the braking power is vastly improved!
