Default Hello From Oregon

Hi.

Me and my wife are middle age and saw the engine kits sometime back.
We live in the mountains in a remote rural area (chickens..solar power etc..)

We thought building a couple of these bikes would be a great way to have some fun and explore the dirt and backroads in the forest.
We are not mountain bikers, just cruisers..

We ran across your site and it looks like your all having a great time.

I am a blacksmith and have a small shop and do iron and metal work.
It looks like there is some great talent in building these bikes here.
There's alot of art expression.

Anyway, we ordered a couple of bikes and they should be here this week.
We're shopping around for engine kits, exhaust pipes and I like the gear changing kit I saw here.

I'll post some pics when we start the build.

Again, it looks like your all doing great work.

Thanks for reading..
Joshua

Thank you.
I also do blades.
Mostly 1084 and 5160 steels.
I use a Don Fogg vertical forge mostly and sometimes coal/coke.
Nice to meet you..

Joshua

Welcome to the form, Your skills will probably come in handy when you start assembly. I just finished (somewhat) my first bike and ended up with several modifications and more to come. You might look at putting on a larger rear sprocket if your planning on off roading and climbing hills.

I also use 5160 and have some 1084 but haven't used it yet. also use 6150. Don Fogg does a good demo. If you get a chance go watch him. I use the horizontal forge. My buds use an upright one. We haven't used coal in a awhile propane is easier to setup for demonstrations. We have started using lump charcoal. we like it and we also cook on it during the demonstrations.
Happy biking!
