I was just thinking about this the other day. I've never ridden on a tandem, but apparently Sheldon Brown was a proponent of tandem bikes. That makes me think twice about tandems. (pun)

When riding close behind another bike, the "slipstream" adds to the efficiency. I bet a motorized tandem would be like a rocket.

Any tandem riders out there care to share?
