Thumbs up Cvt Rack Mount

I Have Been Thinking About This Build For A While. Already Have Changes-improvements Planed. Very Happy With The Performance. IT HAS THE VARIABLE BELT DRIVE IN THE TRANSMISSION. STARTS OUT IN LOW RATIO AND SHIFTS UP. 49cc Pocket Motor, It Cruises About 28mph With 240 Lb Rider. I MAY HAVE TO GEAR IT LOWER WITH THE SPROCKETS TO HAVE MORE TORQUE ON THE TOP END. As The Gear Ratio Changes With Speed The Motor Is Quiet. Waiting For Custom Left Hand Thread Die To Run Free Wheel Sprocket On Left Side, Then Reverse To Left Side Pedal Power (change Crankset Sprockets To Left Side). My Next Build I Will Use A 3.25 Ratio Chain Transmission And Drive Wheel From Left Side With A Free Wheel Set Up Also. (will Not Have To Do Any Changes To Pedal System). The Belt Cvt Has A 3.75 Ratio Gear Box Incorporated And Reverses Out Put Power Rotation. That Is The Reason For The Rite Side Motor Drive. THE BIKE ON LEFT IS A FRICTION DRIVE WITH A 52CC BIG BORE KIT. IT HAS A DIFFERENT SOUND, WILL SWITCH IT TO A BELT CVT TRANS. THE GUY WITH NO FACE IS SON IN LAW. A GREAT HELPER (HE DOES ALL THE WORK HA HA). THE THREAD TITLE WAS TO LONG, MEANT TO BE FREE WHEEL DRIVEN SPROCKET. Ron .....

WE REALLY LIKE THIS SET UP. DO NOT NEED TO PEDAL ASSIST WHEN STARTING. CAN`T ANYWAY, WITH NO CHAIN ATTACHED TO PEDALS. WILL HAVE PEDALING WHEN THE THREAD DIE GETS HERE. WITH THE FREE WHEEL ON REAR AXLE IT COASTS SO QUIET. COASTING DOWN HILLS AND GRADES IS NICE, BARELY ABLE TO HEAR ENGINE IDLE. MORE PICS WITH COVER OFF BELT SYSTEM ETC.. I HAVE A 4 WHEEL BICYCLE , WILL PUT ONE OF THIS TYPE SET UP ON. RON .. ..

I am liking the exhaust Neat T, did you have to bend it to have it pointed down?

Truly beautiful work Ron! I have dreams about using a CVT.

Where did you get them? The chrome looks awesome.

very cool set up, my only complaint is you removed the pedal power so technically you have a moped not a pedal bike any more which may cause issue with certain local officials. They make engines with the shaft on left or right side, why did you choose one with a right shaft for a Bike ?

But you have given me a very good idea as I have two bikes that are similar to yours and my first thought was to make a pusher motor for them, but your idea is alot better for what I want other than removing the pedaling part of the bike.

Hey Guys, Thanks For The Good Words. Commander, I Will Be Making The Bike To Left Side Pedal Drive, It Will Have A Freewheel Sprocket On The Axle. I Could Have Run A Jackshaft To The Left Side, But This Was Easier And Cleaner Imho. I Am Waiting For A Custom Thread Die To Arrive. That Freewheel Is Really Nice. When You Let Off On The Throttle And Coast The Engine Idles. I Will Post Some More Pictures, I Have To Resize Them First. Commander, I Have A Chain Drive Transmission Build In Mind. It Will Look The Same But Drive The Left Side. The Belt Drive Has A Gearbox And Reverses The Rotation. The Ht Kit With Pull Start And A Freewheel Would Be Nice. Ron

Lookin' forward to more pics Ron. Could you do a detailed post on adding the freewheel? Would really like to see how thats done.

Have you been following some of the Russian threads? The bike chain is on the left. really funky looking. I searched for one in the U.S., but found none.
