Default Fasteners: Did I get all I need?

Howdy all,

New build. I have seen everyone recommending replacing the fasteners on the engines. I bought the SBP Hardware kit. My question: the hardware kit did not include studs for the jug, do I need to replace them too? If so, what are the recommendations?

Also, the gaskets look to be the "economy" variety and I plan on making my own. What is'are the correct thicknesses? And the head gasket is aluminum, should it be replaced?

Thanks,
John

The hardware kit does not come with the 2 bolts at the base of the cylinder because there are to many variations in the engine castings. I have never heard of anyone breaking these and due to their location, unless you are tearing your engine down, I don't see a need to replace these as it can compromise the gaskets.

The base gasket and head gaskets seems to do the job unless you are tearing the engine down. It seems the intake and exhaust gaskets are the ones that are in need of replacement.
