restless but ruthless

Ok this has nothing to do with motored bikes and will fall into the catagory of whatever you like at the Tavern . I am battling Restless Leg Syndrome. It hits me about midnight and lasts until 3am or so . Thankfully I work 2nd shift and can get a few hours sleep before I go to work . I have tried xanax and , or , a bar of soap under the covers .These home and doctor treatments don't work very well . Do you know someone that battles this ? Can you give me any suggestions that don't involve alcohol or a baseball bat ?

Yes, my Dad has that...he takes a prescription, not Xanax for it.

If you could help me out and find out what the medication is called and if it really works well I would be most grateful .

He takes Requip....I think that's how you spell it.

Mainstay of drugs are ones that increase dopamine levels in the body-these are same drugs used to treat Parkinsons disease.

They include pramipexole (Mirapex), ropinirole (Requip) and a combination of carbidopa and levodopa (Sinemet).
