Default Walmart ebike

Not sure if others have seen discussions about the Walmart Ebike. I bought one recently and just put it together.

Walmart E-zip? - Bike Forums

Check it out. When it was in stock it was $300. Bicycle, electric motor, everything.

Comments on the Walmart Bike:

1) If you put the battery in wrong the first time, the fuse will blow.
2) The motor is an ASSIST motor. It does not have the power to run the bike by itself.
3) Am not sure if it will help enough going up very steep hills. Will be testing.
4) The motor control has two SAFETY use modes for the motor. a) Power assist after you are moving. b) Power assist after you are pedaling. There is a twist DEADMAN throttle, which only continues working if you twist it.
5) Bike has an extra slot for a second battery pack. You switch between PACK-A or PACK-B depending on which has energy.

Looks like a good deal. Almost too inexpensive. Reading the reviews, they speak well of customer service. How is the quality of the bike it self? looks great. Springer forks and seat post, nice...

Batteries weigh a lot (good luck using a car battery).. so, I imagine It would be pricey to replace just the stock batteries.

Yes the stock batteries are expensive

I-ZIP RMB Battery Pack Bike Accessories

But I found some discussion about alternatives

Power-Sonic PS-1270 12V/7AH Sealed Lead Acid Battery w/ F1 Terminal

Electric Scooter UB12100 Battery

Just need to get that special battery case from Currie.
