Roller or bushing on wrist pin
just bought a new crank for my 67cc but i do not know whether its a roller bearing or bushing connecting rod (wrist pin end). It came without a bearing in it and i do not want to tear the motor down and discover i need another part.

Re: Roller or bushing on wrist pin
Take about 5-10 min to get the top apart on your motor and find out!

BGF? Warning, high probability it isn't the correct part. He rarely sells what is advertised in his listings and pics and description hardly ever match what is purchased on fleabay.

Re: Roller or bushing on wrist pin
europorsche914,
The engine I got from BGF had a needle bearing at the small end of the rod. I would think that if your new crank was a bushed type, the bushing would be installed?
I have this engine, (BGF), completely apart...give me a call tomorrow and I'll give you the I.D. dimension of the rod I have.

I am building a bike for a good customer...He brings in a lot of design/machine work for the shop. He wants this bike as a Christmas gift for his wife. I will for the most part make everything perfect. I should have pics in a few days. Most of the parts will be specific to this bike...which is a discontinued model from GT.
At this point I really don't have enough experience with different bikes to be able to offer universal parts...I am working on it!

Re: Roller or bushing on wrist pin
Looks like a roller bearing to me. Those notches in the sides are the indicator, the bush has clean sides. Have fun, Dave

Re: Roller or bushing on wrist pin
I agree with Egor, the notches are for more oil to get to the rollers in the bearings cage.
