Lightbulb Tesla coil ????

OK here is a weird idea almost a month ago on one of my rare days off I was watching TV and they had this guy making a Tesla generator for his bike lights (12 vt) it uses a copper strip formed on the outer edge of the wheel some steel bolts and wire. Unfortunately I did not see the whole show but the system worked and he even had a tail light running off the unit.

I know we have some really smart guys here. I have been looking on the net to find the set up for this tesla magnetic coil to see about making a proto type for these bikes any ideas on how to make it or where to look.

I think what Dan was talking about is attaching magnets to the wheel, then put a coil on the fork. The magnets passing by would generate electricity. kinda like a hub dynamo, but bigger.

Last I heard I think it was just an "idea." Not sure if he had made any progress.
