Default Routine (rebuild) Maintanance

Just wondering if any of you guys ever change rings and wrist pin bearing on any schedule or just run it until a problem becomes obvious.I have about 1400 mi. on my Dax 70cc.and it run as good as new.I have an extra set of rings and a new bearing and would much rather do this work in the winter while I'm not riding it than in the summer.I guess you can do a compression test but is there any way to judge the state of the bearing. Thanks Ron

If you pull the cylinder off, I think you can check the bearing for excess play by wiggling the piston around. I'm not 100% sure but I believe it should only move back and forth in one direction.

You'll hear it long before it goes. As soon as you hear it rattling, change them.

I didn't hear any rattling before my rings rotated and trashed the cylinder.

Granted, the pin came out....
