Default Repacking/Overhaul Those Wheel Bearing...

I came across a helpful tutorial on overhauling wheel bearings.

It doesn't take a lot of time to do this job but man is it worth it. Just the peace of mind if nothing else.

I've been unpleasantly surprised to find that many new bikes come from the factory with very little grease on the wheel bearings and on the headset. This problem compounds itself on a motorized bike where there the bearings carry a heavier load and run at higher speeds.

One of the resident MB gurus on this site (Bikeguy Joe I think) recommended packing the bearings with red high temp grease so you can tell when the bearings/race are wearing...the grease turns black....very good advice.
