First I got a strike plate.


Then I checked my carb's position and went to town with the drill and hammer.
And got this.



It uses the original cable holder and is drilled in.


I had to do some hammer bashing to make it work. Very precision work lol.
It looks like crap but hand's tendons are thanking me.
Basically it work like this, and it reduces the pull needed significantly.

The repurposing thing, there is all sorts of stuff that can work for us. I walk around hardware and trade stores all the time just looking. Could be a year later trying to do some weird or odd thing and remember some odd part that can be adapted with a vise, drill or what ever. Cool part is some thing already masproduced is cheaper then buying raw material and making a part. Also a lot more fun to DIY then just buy an aftermarket part.
