I was thinking about getting a small motorcycle came across this, I had no idea there was so much info! I need to cut down on my 1.8 mile commute. My Chevy truck burns a lot of gas. I have an old Raleigh bike I an going to motorize, and I want to do it cheap. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

After reading profusely on this forum, I bought a 60/80cc BGF kit. Seems like the upgraded chain, switch, bearings, etc. was well worth the price.

Welcome to the fun!

Another thing you may want is a sprocket adapter, sold from Pirate Cycles. It is way better than having to mount that sprocket on your spokes, like these kits offer. The sprocket adapter mounts on your hub instead.

There is another guy here that is selling them too and those look well made too. I think I saw his on the Swap n Shop thread.

Anyhow, that's one item I'd definitely consider and if you get a 2-stroke, you may want a pull start for it. If you do, go with the heavy duty model if you can, it's made better.
